Spirituality and the meaning of life

Spirituality and the Meaning of Life

Like so many concepts that we use profusely, such as enlightenment, happiness, love or the soul, spirituality lacks any kind of agreed definition.
Traditional spirituality is deeply intertwined with organized religion, but concepts such as individual spirituality and New Age spirituality are abstract, fuzzy and undefined.

Spirituality and the meaning of life
The meaning or purpose of life is an equally abstractly debated subject, despite the fact that it was irrefutably and rationally answered by one of the greatest philosophers of all times 2300 years ago, Aristotle.

ARISTOTLE PROPOSED THAT “HAPPINESS IS THE MEANING AND THE PURPOSE OF LIFE, THE WHOLE AIM AND END OF HUMAN EXISTENCE.”

His reasoning was, that everything else that we seek in our lives, success, recognition, relationship, love, riches, knowledge, enlightenment etc. is because it will theoretically bring us happiness. Everything we strive for is a means to an end, that end being happiness. Happiness is the only goal that is an end by itself, so by definition it is the only pursuit that can be the ultimate meaning and purpose of our existence. In an extremely paradoxical contradictory way, most (if not all) spiritual and religious practices propose suffering as an integral part of any spiritual path; all major religions and spiritual paths proposed suffering as the holy grail of spirituality. If you relinquish every desire and gratification, if you fast and only eat things you do not enjoy, if you have no sex, if you live ascetic, sacrificing lives, then you can ascend spiritually. In addition, if you suffer not only physically but also mentally and emotionally through guilt and shame, if you suffer for the “sins” and “pain” of humanity you are enhancing and evolving your spirituality. In all major Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Judaism and the Islam, embraced by over 54% of the world’s population, Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden were they lived “unashamed about their nakedness”, and the way back is actually by being ashamed of their nakedness!

Spirituality and the meaning of life Tierramitica
There is a multitude of self-described “transformational”, “life changing”, “personal growth”, “personal development” workshops, “spiritual healing” retreats and “self-improvement” Programs. Almost none of them offer any clarity or explanation about what they will transform you to and what kind of life you will have after your life changing workshop, into what you will grow and develop, and most importantly how they will go about transforming you and in which ways. Many offer platitudes such as “love yourself”, “trust yourself and god or the universe”, “open your heart and love” but offer no real explanation about how to go about it beyond generalized boosting practices.

TierraMitica offers true transformational, life changing workshops, full clarity on the objectives, the mechanisms and the methodology of the transformation. The principles are clear and intuitive:
1. Every thought, emotion and automatic reaction is because of a belief system. Our belief systems are our operating systems just like in computers and smartphones, they are our software and our internal programming.
2. Every disagreeable thought, emotion and automatic reaction is because of contradictory and mutually existing beliefs coexisting, paradoxes in our belief systems causing the universally recognized phenomenon of cognitive dissonance (like being guilty and a victim at the same time or being inherently selfish as nature’s survival mechanism and being judgmental and angry at yourself and others for it or even being ashamed for our natural sexuality, nature’s way to create and propagate life).
3. Happiness is the irrefutable meaning and purpose of life and is defined as the feeling that everything is exactly, deliciously as it should be irrespective of circumstances and external conditions. As such it is the goal of the workshops and our ultimate priority
4. We achieve real life change and transformation through exploring the debilitating and robotizing paradoxes (internal contradictions) in each participant, show them through personal experience how they control them and guide their lives and teach them how to combat them, resolve them and become their own self programmers: Architects of their own software, with full clarity and real live demonstration on how their belief systems define their internal world and their behavior.
5. Through our true, life changing transformational workshops issues such as problems in relationships, lack of direction, unsatisfactoriness with life, self-loathing, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolarism, addictions, unworthiness, lack of direction, enthusiasm, passion and inspiration are fully addressed. Simple, intuitive practices for continuous self-improvement and growth are also provided through our custom designed one year plans for each individual.
